Chemical reaction and equations

Chemistry is often described as the study of matter and the changes it undergoes. A chemical reaction is a process in which substances, known as reactants, are transformed into new substances, called products. These transformations are governed by the rearrangement of atoms and the breaking and forming of chemical bonds (For example, when hydrogen gas reacts with oxygen gas, water is produced.
