Q11. Why do plants need specialised tissues?
Plants carry out many different activities, such as absorbing water, transporting substances, providing support, making food and protecting their surfaces.
Specialised tissues allow different groups of cells to perform these functions efficiently. This creates a division of labour within the plant.

2. Smooth Muscle

3. Cardiac Muscle
Cardiac muscle is found only in the heart. Its cells are branched and show striations, with specialised connections between neighbouring cells.
It is involuntary and contracts rhythmically.
Function: It produces the contractions that pump blood through the circulatory system.
